Following Fountain Creek across time is a rich source of history and culture. Patterns of use and abuse have changed: from Native Americans, visitors, and wildlife glad to find a water source, to adding large systems to deliver clean water; and from industrial development to restoring wetlands. Come follow the history of Fountain Creek! Presented by Katherine Scott Sturdevant, Professor of History at Pikes Peak Community College, where she has been the lead American history teacher for 25 years. Her doctoral specialization was the history and politics of western water supply. Kathy’s American Environmental History class is doing a service learning project by helping to research and compile material for the future history exhibit in the Nature Center. $3 per member, $4 per non member.
