PUEBLO, Colo. – June 6-7 is special for all anglers across Colorado because it marks the annual Free Fishing Weekend. All possession limits, fishing methods and bait methods still apply, but a fishing license is not required for either day.
As part of Free Fishing Weekend, Lake Pueblo State Park will host its Annual Kids Fishing Derby on June 6. Children ages 3-12 are welcome, and registration is from 7-8 a.m. at Anticline Fishing Pond located within Rock Canyon just east of the Swim Beach.
The first 100 kids to register will receive a free fishing pole. Fishing will begin at 8 a.m. and run until 10 a.m. At 10 a.m., fishing will conclude and prizes will be awarded.
The event is free, but a parks pass ($7/day or $70/annual) will be required. Parks passes can be purchased at any park entry gate using the self service station.

FVTimes.com was started by me, Liz Alexander with Pink Realty. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fountain, Widefield, Security and Southern Colorado Springs area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle we call home. FountainValaleyTimes.com is that place. We want to share what makes this community of ours so special.
