Aragon Elementary School wins first place in NASP Colorado Archery Tournament

FOUNTAIN, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) is proud to announce Aragon Elementary school as the first place division winner in the 2015 Colorado NASP Virtual Tournament.

Aragon Elementary was presented the first place trophy on April 20 during a NASP tournament awards presentation. Several students received individual awards.

“Aragon Elementary has done a fantastic job of teaching archery skills” said Southeast Region Education Coordinator Tracy Predmore. “Not only did they claim first place as a team in the elementary division but they also claimed individual awards of first for both male and female of the division.”

Five schools and 78 students competed in the first CO NASP Virtual Tournament which was held February 2-20, 2015. Some of the students who placed in the competition have elected to move on and compete in the national tournament which will be held May 7-9 in Louisville, KY. The NASP was created back in 2002 in Kentucky with a mission to promote the teaching of target archery as part of the in-school curriculum.
