Widefield School District 3 will be holding its annual Community Parade on Saturday October 8, 2011. The Widefield Community parade is hosted by Widefield High School and will start at 10:30 am in the Big R parking lot. The parade will leave the Big R parking lot and go west onto Fontaine Blvd. The Community Parade will turn north onto Security Blvd, then turn east onto Main Street where it turns east onto Norman Drive. The Widefield Community Parade theme this year is “Forever Young”. This is a fun time to meet your neighbours and to support our local high schools and students. The Widefield Community parade will have floats, clowns and marching bands. Come early and bring plenty of sunscreen, chairs and water.
Roads will be closed once the parade begins so get there early to find a parking spot. If not attending the parade plan on taking an alternative route on Fontaine Blvd to Grinnell Street to Powers Blvd. The Widefield Community Day Parade ends at the Widefield High School CA Foster Stadium behind Widefield High School.
After the parade join your friends and neighbours at the Widefield Community Barbecue and football game. The Widefield Community Barbecue is from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Afterwards, stay and watch the Widefield High School vs. Mesa Ridge High School Football Game. The football game begins at 1:00 pm. Cheer on local students and show your support be attending this year’s event. If you have any questions about the Widefield Community Parade, please contract Tiffany Shipp at 391-3166.
