Cripple Creek, Colo., – Presented by the City of Cripple Creek, Top of the World Rodeo, the highest elevation rodeo in the world, brings a weekend of thrilling rodeo action June 12-14 to Teller County Fairgrounds in Cripple Creek.

The rodeo weekend kicks off Friday, June 12, with the Ames Construction Percheron Horse Team at Bronco Billy’s Casino, followed by the “Kick Off Hootenanny” at Wildwood Casino with 8-time World Champion Cowboy Larry Mahan, and country band Trucker’s Daughter featuring Lynn Groom, plus a mechanical bull, horseshoes and other fun games.

Saturday, June 13, is a day full of events starting with a pancake breakfast, a western parade down Bennett Avenue and the first day of Mutton Busting and Colorado Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) competition. The CPRA Rodeo will feature all of the rodeo events, including Bull Riding and Barrel Racing, appearances by Larry Mahan, the Ames Construction Percheron Horse Team, Pikes Peak Rangerettes, Sweethearts of the West and more. That evening, meet Larry Mahan at the Double Eagle Casino and kick up your boots at the western street dance at Brass Ass Casino.

Sunday, June 14, starts with a second pancake breakfast and Cowboy Church with Pastor Mark Cartwright. Mutton Busting and the CPRA Rodeo competition continue on Sunday with a second performance, including celebrity and specialty act appearances. After the rodeo on Sunday, a team-roping jackpot will begin, challenging area team ropers to a great local competition.
