Fountain Women Arrested For Leaving Children Locked Up

Fountain, Colorado – On March 8, 2017, officer’s responded to a home in the 100 block of Wellington Street in Fountain, to investigate a report of child abuse.

Officers found that the two small children had been locked in a bedroom by their mother while their mother was away on a trip. The mother had arranged for an unidentified friend to check on the children once a day and to feed them and change their diapers. The mother told the friend that she had a neighbor providing childcare throughout the day and night while the mother was out of town. It was then learned that there was no neighbor caring for the children and upon seeing their malnourished condition, the unidentified friend contacted the authorities.

On March 14, 2017, an Arrest Warrant was issued for the children’s mother who was identified as 25 year old Kanesha Godin. Godin subsequently turned herself in to the Fountain Police Department and is being held on two counts of felony child abuse.
