Nature’s Classroom are Colorado State Standards based programs to connect children to nature through the hands on exploration of a variety of topics specially geared for each grade. This is a great option for both remote learners and home schooled learners to get out in nature, enjoy, have fun, and learn a thing or two along the way. Upon completion, students will earn a certificate to give their educator as proof of attendance

Grades: 4-6 Time: 2.5 hours

Standards: History GR4,5, & 6: GLE1; Geography: GR4 & 5: GLE2, GR6: GLE1; Life Science: GR5: GLE2, LS2:A, GR6: GLE 5, 7, 12; Earth & Space Science: GR4: GLE2, 2ESS2:A, 3ESS2:E

This unique program combines Colorado history and science. Students discover that Fountain Creek is a hero which provides habitat for human life and wildlife; explore how humans affect and change the environment, and hike through five distinct ecosystems. Includes a human timeline activity, a hike, Exhibit Room exploration and a mapping activity.
