Teens Arrested for Shooting Car Windows with BB Guns

 The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls from residents reporting their car windows had been shot out by a BB gun in the Security, Widefield, and Stratmoor Valley area.  

One caller reported seeing a silver 1990’s model Chevy Impala in the Stratmoor Valley where several vehicles had been damaged.

Deputies stopped a silver Chevy Impala matching the earlier description exiting the park near the area of Creekfront Drive and Parkglen Drive, in Widefield.  While talking to the driver, the deputy saw several silver BB’s in the vehicle as well as CO₂cartridges. No BB guns were seen at the time.  The driver and passengers were identified and released.   The deputy later checked the park area and found two CO₂BB guns.

The vehicle was stopped again at around 7:00 p.m. and the three occupants detained.  The suspects are identified as 18 year old Melanie Ucker and two male juveniles.

The El Paso County Sheriffs office recieved 50 Criminal Mischief case reports with estimated damages of approximately $21,000.00 during the three day period.  Additionally, the Fountain Police Department took 22 similar reports during the same time period.
