Widefield Community Center will be holding its annual Spring Clean Sweep Day on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Widefield residents can bring hazardous waste items for disposal. Use the Aspen Drive entrance for this event. The following items will be accepted:
Automotive Chemicals: motor oil, antifreeze, brake flues, engine cleaners
Batteries & smoke alarms: lead acid vehicle batters and all type of household batteries
Data Media: VHS tapes, CD’s, cassette tapes, 9 track tapes
Electronics: computers, printers, scanners, TVs, cell phones, video equipment, cameras, camcorders, fax machines
Household chemicals: aerosols, ammonia, bleach, cleaners, lamp oil, etc.
Lawn & garden chemicals: fertilizers, pesticides, poisons, plant food, etc.
Medicines & medical sharps: mx loose pills together in a clear sealable bag. Not controlled substances. Please remove any personal information from bottles. Place sharps in a sharps container from a pharmacy or in a clean empty liquid laundry detergent bottle with a screw lid.
Metals and large appliances: metal fencing, shelving, microwaves, stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc.
Paint and paint related products: stains, strippers, thinners, varnishes, etc.
Tires: limit 8
Trash/Large items: mattresses, furniture, lumber
