Robbery Suspect Arrested

Colorado Springs, CO – On July 10, 2017, the CSPD Robbery Unit arrested 18-year-old Marcus
Elliott for Criminal Attempt Murder in the Second Degree. Marcus Elliot
and a 16-year-old juvenile male were also charged with numerous
counts of Aggravated Robbery. These are both Class Three Felonies.

The arrests were associated with a number CSPD criminal
investigations. The crime spree started following the escape of both
males from the Colorado Department of Youth Corrections on June 27,
2017. These criminal incidents are documented in CSPD reports
beginning on June 28, 2017 until the suspect’s arrest on July 10, 2017:

-June 28, 2017, Motor Vehicle Theft of a white Nissan Sentra.

-Marcus Elliot was charged with Attempted Murder, following a road
rage incident on I-25, on July 2, 2017. Marcus Elliot was determined to
be the suspect responsible for shooting at the two victims. Both
victims were unharmed.

-Business robberies, on July 2, 2017, at the 7-Eleven located in the
1200 Block of E. Fillmore Street and the Kum and Go located in the
3000 Hancock Expressway.

-Business robbery, on July 4, 2017, at the 7-Eleven located in the 3500
block of N. Academy Blvd.
