COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The City Clerk’s office notifies all individuals considering running for Mayor or At-Large City Council positions in the April 7, 2015 General Municipal Election that City campaign finance laws require candidates or committees to file the Report of Contributions and Expenditures, starting October 1, IF $20.00 or more has been received or spent on a campaign.
Blank reporting forms, FAQs, dates for all filing periods, and more information can be downloaded from the City Clerk’s webpage: www.coloradosprings.gov/election.
While interested candidates or committees are required to file campaign finance forms starting October 1 if they have met the threshold, candidate filing to be placed on the ballot begins in January. Candidates for Mayor and the three At-Large City Council positions eligible for election in 2015 may obtain a candidate filing packet beginning January 7, 2015 in the City Clerk’s Office, 30 South Nevada Avenue, Suite 101 – Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
