On April 30, 2011 the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement agencies will have a one day Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative. The statewide event will give the public an opportunity to dispose of pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement for destruction.
The event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The DEA will provide the cardboard drug collection boxes and will pick-up collected drugs for disposal and final destruction. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is responsible to secure the collected drugs until the DEA has recovered them. Tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage units will be collected. Intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes and illicit narcotics will not be accepted.
Three locations have been set for collection:
705 S. NEVADA AVE. POLICE OPERATIONS CENTER
400 SECURITY BLVD. SECURITY FIRE STATION #1
3255 AKERS DRIVE COUNTY DOT
For additional Information please call Sgt. Steve Noblitt at 719-444-7412.

FVTimes.com was started by me, Liz Alexander with Pink Realty. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fountain, Widefield, Security and Southern Colorado Springs area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle we call home. FountainValaleyTimes.com is that place. We want to share what makes this community of ours so special.
