Widefield School District 3 is proud to announce that the Mesa Ridge High School choir will be performing with professional singers from the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble (CVAE) in the upcoming Gateways program:
Opening Doors to the Choral Arts on November 7, 2014.
This performance is the culmination of CVAE’s acclaimed high school residency program, which mentors young singers and promotes a lifelong passion for the choral art. Each year CVAE chooses two high school choirs to work and perform with at Gateways. This year choirs from Mesa Ridge and Air Academy high school will be working collaboratively with the professional singers to perform 7 large pieces of music.
“It’s truly an incredible opportunity for students to work with high -level performers and perform music that would normally not be accessible to high school students,” said Scott Christiansen, music teacher at Mesa Ridge.
District 3 prides itself with having an award-winning music program and for keeping music education alive.
