PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Pueblo Police Department are asking hunters and anglers for help in recovering a missing drowning victim.

Christopher Lynn Frazier, 23, fell off an inflatable tube in the Arkansas River near Pueblo June 2. Water levels at the time were high, running around 4,900 cubic feet per second. Frazier was swept downstream and was last seen going over the spillway near Sante Fe Avenue.

Since then, water levels have dropped dramatically and the river is now running around 400 cubic feet per second. Officials are hopeful that Frazier’s remains can be recovered and are asking hunters who may be in the area to keep an eye out for any clues.

“We have done numerous searches for Christopher over the summer but have not been successful,” said Sgt. Rick Lancendorfer with the Pueblo Police Department. “We don’t believe Christopher survived this incident but finding his remains would offer his family some closure.”

Officials are unsure how far Frazier’s body might have traveled but are asking those hunting or fishing along the Arkansas River, below Pueblo, to be on the lookout. Frazier had several tattoos and photos of him can be found here: https://flic.kr/p/pvCx3B

“Hunters senses are on high alert when they are out in the field, and if there’s something unusual in the area they are likely to spot it,” said Abbie Walls, Public Information Officer for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. “That’s why we want them to be aware of this incident and help provide any information they can.”
