The Fountain Valley Baseball Association is in need of host families for players participating in the 13-year-old Babe Ruth Mid-West Regional Tournament. The tournament will be held July 31-August 7, 2013 at Metcalfe Park.  A condition for hosting this prestigious tournament is that all players must stay with local host families. Without the community’s help, the tournament could not be held in Fountain. Additional host families are needed ASAP.

As a host family, you provide an invaluable service for these young players. It is important that the boys have a safe home to sleep in and the support of a host family to make their stay here a memorable one. The players’ length of stay will be determined by how their particular team advances in the tournament.

Host families are asked to provide kindness and caring for at least two and up to six players. In addition to a place to lay their head, host families will provide meals, transportation to and from tournament games and functions, and assistance with care and cleaning of their uniforms. Participating families receive personal support from the FVBA Board, as well as family passes for the tournament.

A Host Family meeting kicks off the tournament on July 30th. Players arrive July 31st and attend the opening ceremony banquet on July 31st.  Families interested in hosting players from one of the regional teams for the week of the tournament can register online
