Hispanic Heritage Month Fiesta and Car Show 2018

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 by celebrating the culture of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.  Colorado Springs celebrated on September 22, 2018 with County Commissioner Longolis Gonzales and City Council Member Yolanda Avila gave opening remarks.

Ballet Folklorico Dancers performed at this years festival. Thanks to Connie Benavidez founder of Ballet de La Raza Folklorico for providing entertainment at the Fiesta. Ballet Folklorico is a Mexican Folk Dancing group that has been in the Pikes Peak region since 1994.   

Mariachi Group played traditional music.

Colorado Springs Wrestling demonstrated wrestling moves at the fiesta.  They will have wrestling matches at the Hillside Community Center on October 13th at the Hillside Community Center.  www.coloradospringswrestling.com

United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots and fundraiser.  Please remember to donate a toy this year.  Toys for Tots was created by the U.S. Marine Corps in 1991 and has been rated as one of the top rated charities by “Philanthropy 400 since 2001.  

Pikes Peak Mobile Library at the Fiesta. The PPLD Mobile Library serves urban areas, homeless centers, Senior Citizens in El Paso County.
