Fountain Valley School of Colorado is hosting the 2012 U.S. Open Ultimate Championships starting July 5 through July 8 on the athletic fields.
The event was originally scheduled for the Air Force Academy in northern Colorado Springs, but the Waldo Canyon Fire forced the event to look for a new location. The USA Ultimate Organization approached Fountain Valley School as a possible new venue, and the School excitedly agreed.
Ultimate is not new at FVS as current Technology Integration Coordinator Damian Baraty formed a Flying Disc Club three years ago. Local players around Colorado Springs routinely play at the FVS campus.
This is the inaugural year for the world-class tournament. High-level Ultimate teams in three divisions (open, mixed and women’s) are competing in the invitation-only tournament. Teams are at Fountain Valley School from around the country and two other nations—Colombia and Canada. Colorado is represented by Inception from Denver, Johnny Bravo from Boulder/Denver, and Molly Brown from Boulder/Denver.
Tickets are available at the venue or through the USA Ultimate website.

FVTimes.com was started by me, Liz Alexander with Pink Realty. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fountain, Widefield, Security and Southern Colorado Springs area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle we call home. FountainValaleyTimes.com is that place. We want to share what makes this community of ours so special.
