The U.S. Census Bureau announced that the 2010 census counted 25,846 people living in the city of Fountain. The count was conducted in April 2010.
The population is made of 5,003 (16.3%) Hispanic residents, 2,592 (10%) Black or African-American residents, 626 (1.7%) Asian and 17,625 (72%) residents of all other races.
At the time of the count, there were 9,371 housing units in Fountain with 647 vacancies.
The city of Fountain population in the 2000 census was 15,197.
