COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Have you always wanted to shoot an arrow like Katniss? Well, now you can! Children 12 years and older are invited to join Colorado Parks and Wildlife at Cheyenne Mountain State Park for a beginning archery class.
Students will learn the fundamentals of range safety and how to shoot a bow and arrow. Equipment will be provided. Be sure to bring sunscreen and water.
The class will be held Sept. 20, at 4:30 p.m. at the archery range located at the south end of the park. Class size is limited to 12 students, so sign up early! The class is free but a $7 daily state park pass or annual park pass is required on each vehicle entering the archery range or park. Call 719-576-2016 to register.
The Cheyenne Mountain Archery Range is open seven days a week, from sunrise to sunset.
The range is located in the southeast corner of the park at Highway 115 and Pine Oaks Road, directly across from Fort Carson Gate #5.
