At about 1:30pm today the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a report that three people spotted near Woodmen and I-25 matched the description of the Dougherty siblings that began a crime spree in Florida last week. The trio has been connected to crimes in Florida and Georgia where they allegedly fired shots at an officer that tried to stop the vehicle.
It is not known if the people spotted in the area of Woodmen and I-25 are the Dougherty suspects, but police are encouraging all residents to be on the lookout and to use extreme caution and to not approach the suspects if seen. The Dougherty suspects should be considered armed and very dangerous. Call 911 if you see them.
The suspects were last seen driving a small white vehicle with Texas license plates LCS 909 near Woodmen and I-25. Those plates were reported stolen out of Texas. The vehicle may have different plates by now.
The Dougherty trio is described below:
21-year-old Ryan Edward Dougherty- WM, Unknown description
26-year-old Dylan Dougherty Stanley – WM, 6′ 190 lbs
29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty- WF, Unknown description
The trio was last seen in a White 4-door Subaru Impreza. The CSPD is working with the FBI to determine if the people spotted are the Dougherty suspects.
