ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Educational Partnership awarded a $1.7M grant to the Wildfield School District for the 2014-15 school year. The Wildfield School District serves military students from Fort Carson Army Base, Peterson Air Force Base, U.S. Air Force Academy, Schreiver Air Force Base, NORAD, Naval Center, VA Medical.
“Widefield School District 3 is very fortunate to be the recipient of the Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA) Military-Connected Academic and Support Programs grant. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to expand programs for our families living in our surrounding military installations,” said Widefield School District 3 Superintendent, Scott Campbell. “These funds will have a tremendous impact on not only our military-connected students and families, but will positively impact the entire Widefield School District 3 community. One of the primary uses of the funds will be through Project Lead The Way, the nation’s leading science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program. It is our goal to enhance the STEM program in District 3 and help create career pathways for all of our students.”
DoDEA awarded nearly $32 million in grants this year. The grants were awarded to 25 military-connected public school districts to strengthen family-school-community relationships and enhance student achievement for military connected students.

FVTimes.com was started by me, Liz Alexander with Pink Realty. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fountain, Widefield, Security and Southern Colorado Springs area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle we call home. FountainValaleyTimes.com is that place. We want to share what makes this community of ours so special.
