CSU Extension Celebrates 100th Anniversary

The El Paso County Board of Commissioners recognized the 100th anniversary of CSU Extension serving El Paso County with a ceremonial resolution. CSU Extension was established in El Paso County in 1912 and has continually provided services for your development, community and economic development, environmental and natural resources education.

Vice Chair Sallie Clark said, “The 4-H programs are really important educationally for kids, but the cooperative extension also provides adult educational opportunities. CSU Extension offers information on flood and wildfire mitigation and I encourage residents who have been impacted by the recent fire to visit the Extension website for additional information.”

CSU Extension programs include 4-H Youth Development, Master Gardeners, Water Quality and Water Saving Education, Native Plant Masters, Nutrition Education and Clean and Renewable Energy.

“As a 4-H kid, I was an adult before I realized Extension was more than 4-H,” said Commissioner Dennis Hisey. “As a Commissioner I’ve learned how much more.”
