CSP Trooper Identified in The Early Morning Crash in Denver

The Colorado State Trooper involved in the early morning crash on I-25 near 58th Ave has been identified as Trooper Clinton Stanton.  Trooper Stanton, age 46 has been employed with the CSP for 12 years.

Trooper Stanton was completing a traffic stop with a motorist that had lost part of their load on I-25 when his patrol car was struck by a passing motorist.  Trooper Stanton was seated inside of the patrol car when it was struck.  Trooper Stanton was transported to North Suburban Medical Center with moderate injuries. Trooper Stanton has since been released from the hospital.

The Denver Police Department continues to investigate this incident.  This is a reminder to please slow down or move to the left for emergency vehicles, road crews, Police and State Troopers.
