CPW COMMISSION MEETS DEC. 11-12 IN COLORADO SPRINGS

DENVER – The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission (PWC) will meet in Colorado Springs, Dec. 11 -12, at the Antler’s Hilton Colorado Springs, 4 South Cascade Avenue​. The meeting begins at 8:15 a.m. Thursday and is scheduled to adjourn shortly after noon on Friday.

Commissioners will receive briefings on a variety of issues such as updates from the Agriculture Department, CPW branches of Law Enforcement and Financial Services and the Volunteer program. Some actionable items include Partnership Opportunities with the Mule Deer Foundation, Allen Dines Ranch land acquisition, the CPW West Slope Mule Deer Strategy and others. This meeting also initiates a strategic planning discussion and process. The development of the stategic planning process continues with a workshop Friday morning.

The Commission meets regularly and travels to communities around the state to facilitate public participation in its processes. The Commission is scheduled to meet next month in Denver. In 2015 PWC will hold meetings in: March in Denver; April in Grand Junction; June in Gunnison; July in Frisco; August in Durango; September in Craig; November in Wray; and December in Pueblo. Constituents can listen to Commission meetings through the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website. This opportunity is provided to keep constituents better informed about the development of regulations by the Board and how they are working with Parks and Wildlife staff to manage parks, wildlife and outdoor recreation programs administered by the agency.
