The Colorado State Patrol is very proud of the effort displayed during the recent #ZeroZero targeted campaign. Although the Colorado State Patrol did not reach their goal of zero fatalities, they did make a significant impact across the state. How many devastating crashes were prevented thanks to the high visibility enforcement and outreach of troopers across the state? From 6PM on Friday the 17th through midnight on Sunday the 19th, the Colorado State Patrol made significant strides to counteract both impaired driving as well as dangerous driving behavior.

In addition to the state wide ZeroZero efforts, troopers from the Colorado State Patrol’s Criminal Investigations Branch participated in a traffic safety operation in Pueblo County. The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Colorado State Patrol’s Troop 2-D Office, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and Pueblo Police Department.

During the operation, Troopers located 3 stolen vehicles and conducted multiple probable cause vehicle searches. The probable cause vehicle searches resulted in the seizure of two weapons. One weapon was seized from a convicted felon and a second weapon from an intoxicated person. Troopers also seized controlled substances and initiated criminal cases. Finally, Troopers located and arrested 14 fugitives wanted by the Colorado State Patrol for DUI violations, Possession of Dangerous Narcotics and Driving under Restraint.

Colorado State Patrol Troopers intercepted and initiated one Human Smuggling case which is on-going.

The members of the Colorado State Patrol appreciate the pro-active involvement by the citizens and drivers of Colorado as well as Colorado media sources during this campaign. We asked for voluntary compliance, had zero tolerance and together our message was heard by thousands.
