“We are thrilled to once again provide Colorado Springs residents with affordable, nonstop service to Phoenix,” said Andrew C. Levy, Allegiant Travel Company President and COO. “We are confident the community will enjoy the convenient access to this popular warm-weather destination and the ability to book their entire vacation with us for less.”
The service will operate twice weekly, flying nonstop from Colorado Springs Airport (COS) to Phoenix / Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) and becoming the only nonstop service from Colorado Springs to any destination in Arizona. Flight days and times and the lowest fares can be found at Allegiant.com.
“This exciting new service continues to make our airport the convenient choice for southern Colorado. Nonstop, low-fare service to Phoenix is important to business and leisure travelers and we are very appreciative of Allegiant’s commitment to our market,” said Mayor Steve Bach.
“We are pleased that Allegiant Airlines is expanding from Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Airport has had a great partnership with Allegiant Airlines and the addition of Phoenix service will serve to strengthen that relationship,” said Dan Gallagher, Colorado Springs Airport Acting Aviation Director.
Allegiant first began service at Colorado Springs Airport in February 2002 with nonstop service to Las Vegas and previously offered service to Phoenix from 2010 to 2012. Focusing on low-cost leisure travel, the company provides customers with low base fares, averaging less than half the cost of the average domestic round-trip ticket purchased in 2013. Over the past 15 years, its innovative business model has allowed the company to grow from one aircraft and one route, to offering access to convenient, affordable service in 100 communities nationwide, more than any other domestic low-cost carrier. Phoenix becomes Allegiant’s second nonstop destination from Colorado Springs.
With breathtaking scenery, endless sun, unmatched resorts, and miles of world-class golf courses, Phoenix-Mesa is a gateway to all that Arizona has to offer. Allegiant partners with more than 70 of Arizona’s most exciting hotel properties, provides low-cost car rental service through its partnership with Alamo Rent a Car, and offers great deals on activities such as hot air balloon rides and Grand Canyon tours.
