Christopher Freemen Jr. Wanted for Murder

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) Homicide/Assault Unit has identified a suspect related to this homicide investigation. Homicide detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for 31 year old Christopher Freeman, Jr. of Colorado Springs. Freeman is currently wanted for Murder in the Second Degree. The CSPD is seeking the community’s assistance in locating Freeman, who should be considered armed and dangerous.

UPDATE: On May 30, 2019, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the victim from the May 29, 2019, shooting in the 200 block of North Murray Boulevard. The victim has been identified as 46 year old James Quilter of Colorado Springs. Mr. Quilter’s death is the seventh homicide in the City of Colorado Springs in 2019. At this time last year, the city had 14 homicides.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: On May 29, 2019, at approximately 10:30 P.M., officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to an apartment complex in the 200 block of North Murray Boulevard for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male outside of the apartment complex. The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for this investigation. This death is being investigated as a homicide and continues to be an active investigation.
