Nearly 200 students from District 8 were recognized on November 8th by the Gold Crown Foundation as part of Military Appreciation Day. To show their appreciation for our military community the Gold Crown Foundation did not offer plaques or certificates, but rather gave students an amazing V.I.P. treatment during that Friday afternoon and evening.
The events began with a chartered bus ride to Denver where students were greeted at the Gold Crown field house by all Denver sports mascots and the Broncos cheer leaders. Students were fed Panera sandwiches for lunch followed by a basketball clinic from Bill Hanzlik (Gold Crown CEO and former Denver Nugget).
After receiving gift bags with shirts and trading cards, student were taken to the Colorado Avalanche game where they again received a free meal and got to watch the game. The students had a wonderful experience and made a great impression on all of the organizations they interacted with that day. I am proud to know that military appreciation goes far beyond the Fountain/Fort Carson community, and our military children are being recognized for the sacrifices that they make.

FVTimes.com was started by me, Liz Alexander with Pink Realty. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fountain, Widefield, Security and Southern Colorado Springs area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle we call home. FountainValaleyTimes.com is that place. We want to share what makes this community of ours so special.
