Cheyenne Mountain State Park seeks photo contest entries

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Our state has no shortage of beauty and it’s not uncommon for news media to feature amazing nature photographs viewers share with them. But for every photo shared, imagine how many more are simply stored on people’s cameras or digital devices.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park wants to feature these unseen, or perhaps not yet captured, inspiring images in its visitor center. The park is hosting its second annual photo contest and in order to highlight Colorado’s beauty and wildlife, is looking for entries for the following categories: Landscape, Native Wildlife, Insects and Birds, and Youth (14 and under). All entries will be judged by two professional photographers and a volunteer. Winners in each category will receive a ribbon and a prize yet to be determined.

All of the photos entered will be displayed in the visitor center’s art gallery from May 16 to May 31. There is still time to hit the trails to take a photo, as entries will be accepted until May 11 at 5 p.m. Please visit our website, http://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/Parks/cheyennemountain, for more information, or stop by the visitor center to submit your photo.
