AUTOMOBILE/PEDESTRIAN COLLISION 1200 BLOCK OF EAST CHEYENNE ROAD

Colorado Springs, CO – On May 7, 2018, at approximately 11:04 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of an automobile/pedestrian collision in the 1200 block of East Cheyenne Road. It was further reported the vehicle involved in this wreck fled the scene southbound on East Cheyenne Road. Upon arrival, officers contacted the pedestrian who was found to be suffering from serious injuries. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment of those injuries.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Major Accident Unit has assumed the investigation. It has been determined the victim was standing alongside the road in the 1200 block of East Cheyenne Road when he was struck by a vehicle which was traveling southbound on East Cheyenne Road.

Detectives with the Major Accident Unit are requesting the assistance of anyone who may have witnessed this crash or who has information concerning the whereabouts of the involved vehicle. The vehicle is described as a 2009-2012, red Mitsubishi Gallant sedan. This vehicle will be missing a portion of its right front bumper. Attached is a photograph of a vehicle similar to the vehicle being sought by police. It is NOT the actual vehicle.
