Fountain, Colorado – Press Release
The Fountain Police Department made an arrest today in the recent thefts from unlocked vehicles in the Fountain Valley Area. The investigation began in March and included more than sixty cases in the following neighborhoods: Cross Creek, Heritage, Tuscany Ridge, Wild Oak Farms and Countryside. The cases involved thefts from unlocked vehicles during the nighttime hours after sunset.
Officers noted many of the items taken such as iPods and MP3 players are items that are typically pawned. A search of pawned items revealed a suspect. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and recovered additional items. Joseph Kwon Spoerl, a nineteen year old Fountain resident was arrested for multiple felony counts of 1st Degree Criminal Trespass. The Fountain Police Department along with the El Paso County Sheriffs Office are continuing the investigation and additional arrests are expected.
