A fire at Quail Cove Apartments located at 3308 Quail Lake Road off Cheyenne Mountain Road and Venetucci Blvd. The fire started around 3 pm and flames and smoke billowed out of the building for several hours until firemen were finally able to get the fire under control.  No injuries were reported.

Streets were blocked and residents of Quail Lake Apartments had to park along Quail Lake Rd for several hours until streets into the complex were re-opened.

The fire left nine families homeless The American Red Cross said they will provide assistance to the nine families with temporary housing. Ten units at the apartment complex were affected.
