FORT CARSON, Colo. —
On June 10, just over fifty years since the first U.S. troops deployed to Vietnam, the Mountain Post will host a Welcome Home event for veterans of the Vietnam War.
The day-long event will begin at 10 a.m. at Iron Horse Park on post and will include veterans’ information booths, food vendors, live music, displays of current-issue military gear and replica displays of Vietnam-era military equipment.
There will be bus tours of the Mountain Post and The Wall That Heals, a traveling, half-sized replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial situated on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., will be on display.
The event will culminate with a final salute to Vietnam veterans at Iron Horse Park. This event is free and open to the public. All Vietnam and Vietnam era veterans are encouraged to participate.
Visitors who do not have a military registration decal on their vehicles are asked to use Fort Carson’s main gate located just off of State Highway 115 on the west side of the post. All visitors must present a federal or state issued photo identification card, vehicle registration, proof of insurance and be prepared for a vehicle search at the gate. In an effort to minimize traffic, visitors are highly encouraged to car pool. No pets will be allowed at this event with the exception of service animals.

FVTimes.com was started by me, Liz Alexander with Pink Realty. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fountain, Widefield, Security and Southern Colorado Springs area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle we call home. FountainValaleyTimes.com is that place. We want to share what makes this community of ours so special.
