Today is National Doughnut Day and in celebration participating Dunkin Donuts will be giving a free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage (except for those from the refrigerated case). National Doughnut Day was created to honor Salvation Army lassies who fried up doughnut treats for soldiers during World War I.
