Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday of May in remembrance of soldiers who have died while serving in the military. Many families visit cemeteries and clean the grave site, place flowers and flags at the headstone. Many families visit memorials on Memorial Day to honor those who have died serving in the military. In Arlington Cemetery flags are placed at each headstone in honor of those who have died. Many families picnic and attend citywide events.
Memorial Day is a Federal Holiday and all Americans are asked to:
- asked to pause for one minute and think of those who have died and sacrificed for our country during the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:oo pm each Memorial Day
- fly the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon
- and remember family members who have sacrificed for this Nation

FVTimes.com was started by me, Liz Alexander with Pink Realty. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fountain, Widefield, Security and Southern Colorado Springs area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle we call home. FountainValaleyTimes.com is that place. We want to share what makes this community of ours so special.
