Update: James Hanlon is in custody in the Denver metro area. Thanks to the community for their numerous tips.
The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section/Homicide Unit has an active arrest warrant for First Degree Murder and is actively pursuing James W. Hanlon, white male, 53 years of age, 5’ 11”, 180 lbs., brown hair, and blue eyes. Hanlon is considered to be armed and dangerous; therefore, we ask that you not make contact. If you know Hanlon’s whereabouts or have any information, please notify your local law enforcement agency.
Hanlon might be in a 2018 Toyota 4Runner, CO license plate CCW619. Stock photo is attached (not the actual vehicle). Hanlon may have left the state of Colorado.

On March 27, 2019, at approximately 6:24 PM, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Rimwood Drive on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male near the street with an apparent gunshot wound. The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed the on-scene death. The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for this investigation.
