Colorado CBI Director Leaving Office

Denver, CO—Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Mike Rankin is left the Bureau to pursue a career in the private sector on September 11, 2017.

Following two years of service with the Bureau, Director Rankin oversaw the opening of a new forensic science laboratory in the Denver metro area, a new regional office in Pueblo to serve southern Colorado public safety agencies, and the launch of a number of programs across the state.

“The CBI and the entire Department of Public Safety benefited greatly from Director Rankin’s exceptional leadership and vision, and we extend our sincere appreciation for his dedicated service within the Bureau and with our stakeholders,” said Colorado Department of Public Safety Executive Director Stan Hilkey.

Deputy Director Ted Mink will serve as the acting Director of the CBI until the position is filled later this fall.
